Screw channel pumps
The HUS screw channel pump is suitable for media containing long fibres, sludges and slurries, paper and pulp, effluent from energy power stations and many other fluids which are viscous or are of a high solid content. Pumping liquids of this nature often incur high energy and maintenance costs.
The HUS screw channel pump has been developed to create a high degree of efficiency and a low operating cost.
Working Principle
An impeller that is informed as a corkscrew lays in a cone shaped casing. That impeller has also the working principle of a corkscrew. Through the rotation of the screw the fluid is literally being pushed away.
Features and advantages
- High efficiency, BEP > 70%
- Insensible for clogging, also when pumping long fibred fluids
- Insensitive for viscosity changes
- Suitable for gas containing media
- Low energy cost even at higher flow rates
- Low maintenance cost
- Double mechanical seal with controllable oil chamber
Applications
Water treatment: Thick sludge, thickened media, slurries, sewage and waste water
Food and beverage: Diatomaceous earth, slurry, yeast, sugar, gelatin, hop, corn and malt
Agriculture: Chicken necks, bones, compost, biogas and pet food
Other: Paper pulp and thick fluid streams in power stations
Specification options
To meet the demands of pumping difficult fluids a HUS pump can be specified with a wide variety of specifications such as resistance to abrasion, corrosion and cavitation.
