Following the retirement of their long standing employee Les Harrison the specialist pump manufacturer ABEL of Hamburg in Germany have appointed Verder Ltd as their sole distributor for the UK and Southern Ireland.

The Verder Group already represent ABEL in other countries including South Africa, Austria and Romania where several significant orders have recently been secured.
There is a high level of synergy between the two companies including markets, customers and applications. The ABEL high pressure and solids handling pumps serve applications alongside Verder’s existing program of positive displacement pumps such as progressing cavity and peristaltic pumps.
The technology of the ABEL series of pumps allows media considered as “not to flow” to be pumped over significant distances providing massive cost savings over traditional conveyor systems. The ABEL series comprises heavy duty electrically driven membrane, piston and hydraulic membrane pump systems allowing solids content in excess of 50% to be handled with discharge pressures up to 250 bar and flow rates up to 600M³/hr. 
The pumps offer ideal solutions for sludge and slurries and the pressure capability provides a means of enhancing the performance of filter presses to deliver an exceptionally dry cake. Other applications include sludge transfer, spray dryer feed, incinerator feed and metering systems. These processes are typically found in the water and waste, ceramic, mining, cement, chemical, petrochemical and automotive industries.
